Alone at the Seaside

The seaside is somewhere people usually associate with being together. Children running around on the beach, families building sandcastles, the sound of arcade machines ringing, and jackpots being won.

It can also be somewhere people go to contemplate life over the crashing waves, to watch the rising sun over a fresh summer morning or to reminisce about memories past.

“Alone at the Seaside” explores these themes using bold, simple compositions, highlighting the wonder and scale of the British seaside town but also the calm which can be felt when enjoying it by yourself.

Photographs taken in Southend-on-Sea, Eastbourne, Cromer, Southwold, Hastings, Wells-next-the-Sea and Great Yarmouth.
